Farm to Community Event- Heritage Grains June 8th
Kids under 10 when accompanied by an adult are free. Please add a note to your order with the number of children that are under the age of 10 that will be attending so we can prepare appropriately.
For our first large Farm to Community event of the season we are planning to make it family friendly and for a larger group to visit! When guests arrive we will have dinner from the Farm set up buffet style and tables set up for guests to eat family style. We will also have our Miss Elsie Mae, our highland heifer, along with her calf friends there for the guests to see. Our pastured chickens will be there too! Our focus for this event is heritage grains so we will have a couple of stations set up talking about how heritage grains are milled and how to incorporate them into your diet/ the nutrient benefits of using heritage grains by our friends the Local Millers, who mill our grains. We will also offer wagon rides to our heritage grain fields where we will talk about our farming practices in growing spelt, Rogue de Bordeaux wheat, einkorn wheat, red fife wheat and Open Pollinated Corn. We will have our Farm Market set up as well for guests to purchase not only our farm products, but also a variety of heritage grain products, all grown in Ohio through a heritage grain hub we are a part of.
